Sonicle Media is a podcast/audio programming development and production company focusing mainly on environmental issues, working with non-profit organizations and other issue-driven clients, as well as creating its own original productions. A portmanteau of the words Sonic and Chronicle, Sonicle creates sound stories to help sound causes.

Sonicle exists to help organizations get their voices heard through the potent and personal medium of audio. Whether it be concept development, script-writing, narrator/host/music selection, recording, editing, or all of the above, Sonicle can help develop and produce your public podcasts, or your organization’s internal audio communications.

Mike Skagerlind is Sonicle’s Managing Producer. In another life, he was, among other things, a content development executive. Projects from that period include:

Nickelodeon’s Webby-winning children’s cable television website, nick.com (Websites and Mobile Sites, Television & Film, 2003)

Barnes & Noble’s NY Emmy-winning web video short documentary series, Book Obsessed (Outstanding Advanced Media Crafts Achievement, 2008)

Barnes & Noble’s Telly-winning short comedy series, Mr. Literary (Online Video Comedy, 2010)

NBC iVillage’s Webby-winning web video series, My Best Idea (DIY/How To, 2013)

Mike also created the Barnes & Noble Studio in 2007, which produced hundreds of book- and writer-centric web videos and audio podcasts, including interviews with many notable authors, such as Pulitzer Prize-winners Annette Gordon-Reed and Junot Díaz, documentary film maker Ken Burns, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, New York Times best-selling authors Malcolm Gladwell and Dan Brown, actress Mary Tyler Moore, designer Isaac Mizrahi, chefs Nigella Lawson and Anthony Bourdain, musician Ziggy Marley, Sarah, Duchess of York, editor/publisher Sonny Mehta, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and former President Bill Clinton.

As co-host of the Sonicle-produced Coffee At New Jersey Audubon series, Mike interviewed prominent conservationists, biologists, educators and other voices for nature, including New Jersey state senators Bob Smith and Kip Bateman, Cornell University’s Garvin Professor of Ornithology Dr. Amanda Rodewald, the writer and broadcaster Dr. Carl Safina, and the novelist Jonathan Franzen.
